Keeping AI creatives on brand
Demsly Creative · · 2 min read
Brand consistency is more than putting the same logo on every asset. It comes from repeated choices about language, composition, color, pacing and what the brand considers worth showing. AI production works better when those choices are explicit.
Describe observable choices
Replace broad adjectives with visible direction. Instead of “bold,” specify strong contrast, short headlines and close product framing. Instead of “calm,” describe restrained movement, uncluttered compositions and room around the subject. The goal is to give a reviewer something they can actually check.
Create a small reference sheet with approved colors, typography, product images and sample copy. Add a few examples of work that does not fit, with a sentence explaining why. Clear exclusions can prevent repeated rounds of subjective feedback.
Lock the essentials, vary the story
Choose the elements that should remain stable across a batch: product appearance, logo treatment, voice and the main typographic system. Allow the settings and creative angles to change when they support different audience situations.
For example, a desk accessory can appear in a home office and a travel setup while retaining the same product framing and direct language. Consistency should make the brand recognizable without forcing every concept into the same scene.
Review the campaign together
Place the candidate assets side by side before final approval. Differences in lighting, scale or visual tone are easier to notice as a collection than one image at a time. Watch the edits consecutively as well; pacing can create a mismatch even when the still frames look related.
When a useful new choice emerges, add it to the reference sheet. Keep that sheet short enough to use in daily production. A living set of clear examples helps the team build continuity while leaving room for ideas that have not been tried before.
